WEIR Weir is a small island dedicated to Peter the Apostle. It is so overshadowed by the other islands as to be hardly visible, and is inhabited by farmers. Here in times past lived a tall giant, and the foundation of his house yet remains*. Others say that the island was formed from the boat of St Magnus when he fled to the island of Egilschay.
